The Board of Directors of the New Jersey CannaBusiness Association (NJCBA) are accepting applications for the position of Deputy Executive Director!
The NJCBA is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association dedicated to promoting jobs and growth in a sustainable, responsible, and inclusive New Jersey cannabis industry. The NJCBA is New Jersey’s first and largest trade association representing the needs and responsible growth of the cannabis industry.
The Deputy Executive Director will be responsible for supporting the Board of Directors in the implementation of NJCBA’s programs, networking and promotional events, membership outreach and support, legislative research, and related activities that furthers NJCBA’s goals and mission. The Deputy Executive Director must also understand New Jersey cannabis policies and laws, with the ability to work with the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (CRC), as well as members of legislature and other government officials.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Providing executive support and leadership to advance NJCBA’s mission, vision, and goals
- Develop strong relationships with business members of the NJCBA
- Manage the overall schedule of the NJCBA including events, newsletters, legislative calendar, and related outreach efforts
- Coordinate and grow NJCBA’s social media presence
REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree is required. Equivalent work experience is considered.

ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND:
The position of Deputy Executive Director is ideal for a person who may have worked as an intern or full time staff for a government official or agency, a lobbying firm, or communications and marketing firm. Those who are self starters and have recently graduated with limited work experience are also encouraged to apply.
