New Jersey CannaBusiness Association (NJCBA) President Scott Rudder will be one of four panelists participating in a Newark Community Meeting on marijuana and the cannabis industry. The event is being hosted by Newark Mayor Ras Baraka and Rudder will join Senator Ron Rice, Assemblywoman Angela McKnight and researcher Ijeoma Opara on the panel.
This event takes place Thursday, August 23, 2018, from 6 pm – 8 pm at NAN Newark Tech World, located at 400 Hawthorne Avenue in Newark.
This event comes on the heels of several big developments in the effort to legalize recreational cannabis and expand medical cannabis in New Jersey. Last month, New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal sent to a letter to county and municipal prosecutors seeking an adjournment until September 4, 2018 or later on any cannabis related offenses. Moreover, Senate President Sweeney recently commented that he is confident both the Senate and Assembly will have the votes necessary to pass legislation legalizing recreational cannabis and expanding medical cannabis.
